Game Summary: Coach Mark Fuller got his 400th career win as the Cumberland Beavers dominated Luck 11-3. The Beavers had to come from behind, as Luck scored in the 1st to take a 1-0 lead, and two in the 2nd to take a 3-1 lead.

Sophomore starting pitcher Tommy Zappa allowed a lead off homerun to Jamison Gross, the Luck 2nd baseman, and then a a walk to CF Michael Larson and a double to SS Harry Severson-Dickerson, and it looked like the Beavers were in big trouble early. He got out of the jam by striking out 1B Colin Svoboda, getting RF Logan Hacker to foul out to 1B Mitch Blaser, and struck out C Derek Letch to limit the damage to one run.

The Beavers answered in the 2nd when SS Nolan Scheps got his first of four hits on the day with two outs. After a walk to DH Mike Forster and 2B Graham Severson reaching on an error (a pop up dropped by 3B Bryson Clemson), Scheps, who was running on contact, was able to score. 3B Sam Clark flew out to RF to end the inning.

The Cardinals scored twice in the 2nd aided by the only two Beaver errors on the day. LF Ben Kuflek had the only hit in the inning.

From there on it was all Cumberland. In the four run third, Zappa led off with a walk, but was erased on a Mitch Blaser fielder's choice. RF Graham Miller doubled, scoring Blaser, and LF Sawyer FollansbeeDelong reached on an error by Severson-Dickerson. Freshman Brady Rose belted a homerun to the LF gap, a 350 foot shot, to drive in three runs.

The Beavers scored one more in the fourth aided by five Luck walks. They got two more in the fifth when Scheps doubled, Forster reached on an error, 2B Ryan Behling drew a walk, and Zappa knocked in a run with a fielder's choice.

Rose drove in a run in the sixth with a single and singles by Scheps and Clark aided in scoring twice more in the 7th. Graham Miller, Cumberland's ace pitcher, struck out all three hitters he faced in the 7th.

The Beaver players mobbed their coach after the victory. Cumberland next plays Unity and Amery on Saturday, at Amery.
