Senior stat girls Sarah Moss and Emma Cifaldi take the fourth and final trip to the Dome.

Game Summary: The Cumberland Beavers played in the Minneapolis Metrodome for the 22nd time in 23 years, coming away with 7-3 victory over traditional Dome opponent Fall Creek. Sam Clark took the hill for the Beavers and pitched three innings allowing one run.

After setting Fall Creek down in the first, Cumberland took a 1-0 lead in their home half. RF Tommy Zappa hit a one out single and scored on a Mitch Blaser double. The Beavers scored twice in the 2nd, when CF Brady Rose walked, stole 2B, and scored on a two out double by Graham Severson. Severson advanced to 3B when Fall Creek SS Jordan Semanko misplayed a ball hit by C Beau Bergstrom, and scored on another single by Zappa.

Fall Creek scored a run in the third when Clark walked lead off hitter Josh Sprunk, who would score on a two out single by starting pitcher Eric Gajewski. Cumberland answered right back with two more in the third to push their lead to 5-1. Rose singled with one out, stole second and third base, and scored when Severson hit a hard ball to shortstop that was misplayed by Gajewski. SS Nolan Scheps, who had walked with two outs, also scored on the play.

Beaver freshman Adam Bielmeier came in relief of Clark in the fourth. He uncharacteristically walked three hitters in the inning, and allowed an infield single to LF Cameron Nyseth to allow a run. Again, the Beavers answered in the home half, when Zappa drew a lead off walk, advanced to 2B when Blaser reached on an error by 2B Nic Staves. After a double steal, Zappa scored on a sac fly to LF by Graham Miller.

Fall Creek got one run in the seventh, but Bielmeier was able to pitch four innings and get the victory. Cumberland goes to 6-2 overall.

JV summary: The JV went to 2-0 in a game they won by a score 8-3. Senior Mike Forster, getting some needed work on the mound, pitched two innings in relief of Vaughn Waite to get the win. Cumberland trailed through the first two innings, but began tacking on runs due mostly to walks by Fall Creek pitchers. The Cricket pitchers walked 13 Beavers, and allowed just one hit, to Waite. Waite allowed two earned runs in his first inning of work, but settled down to pitch a scoreless 2nd. Mike Harris pitched the fifth, allowing one run on three hits, but issued no walks.
